Povishield Solution (Microbicidal Solution/Povidone Iodine Solution 5 %) is an aqueous solution of 5% povidone-iodine. Povishield Solution is a fast-acting, broad-spectrum antiseptic that kills gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as most fungi/yeasts, viruses and protozoa. Provishield Solution is indicated as topical germicidal of patientâ skin, wounds and mucous membranes, for preoperative skin preparation of patients and post-operative irrigation and dressing of operative sites.
